You waited for me outside my door.
You greeted me with a smile and said, "Hey! Alright, let's go!"
So cheerful and bright. You were like sunshine.
We went to the park together. We sat down on a wooden bench. You told me all about your day in school. You told me everything, always... It made me so happy.
A vendor passed by. He had balloons that day. Her eyes lit up as she watched him pass by. She said she wanted four of them, but had no money. I quietly hopped off the bench and shyly walked over to the vendor, and handed him enough money for the 4 balloons. They were all pastel, so light and beautiful looking, just like you!
She said all
...Maybe I was wrong.
Maybe I was just living in a dream world...
I left home thinking It'd just be a nice getaway... Cause some trouble, scare some people... I figured I would go back home after a week or so...
Once you came to the Islands...
Everything changed.
I don't know when, or how... but I started thinking differently... I didn't notice how much I'd changed...
I felt so happy... because there was someone who wasn't automatically afraid of me... You accepted me for who I am...
Somewhere along the line, I got the foolish idea in my head that we would stay here together... I didn't think of going home once.
But... ...I guess that
War... Poverty... Death.
When you're young, you just don't think these things will happen, especially not to you, not to anyone you know...
It was beautiful out. Bale was always beautiful, especially when it was sunny... My father was at an important meeting, being a king and all, regarding my uncle. He had told me to go out and play.
Whenever I went out, my best friend would always be there waiting for me. Though, I suppose the fact that HIS father serves as a knight for my father might have had something to do with it... I doubt he would talk to me otherwise, since he's 8 years older than me.
"Hey! What are they talking about in there?
It was quiet.... so silent that night. The occasional rustle of the leaves and grass were the only sounds i'd heard. I'd been sitting in the middle of that field for hours, watching as the sun slowly dropped below the curve of the Earth. It grew very dark... darker than i've ever seen.
I looked up, and to my surprise, there were no stars... not a single spot of light in that sky. Even the moon hid itself. I laid myself down and stared at that sky for a long time.
Not a thought passed through my mind.... not until it grew exceptionally late. I'm guessing around... two in the morning? Then I thought of him.... I thought of his smile... how

"It's cloudy...."
"That it is."
Chaud held his PET at his side, walking alone down the sidewalk. The light breeze ruffled his hair, making him flinch slightly.
"I really hate days like this..." He sighed.
"Hm." Protoman responded.
Despite the fact that he had Protoman with him, he felt somewhat...lonely. How absurd... it's not as though he has no friends, but this.... it felt like something was missing. What could it be...?
Suddenly, as if out of nowhere, someone crashed into him, arms wrapped around his waist. Chaud jumped in surprise, and found himself face to face with a sheepish looking Lan, That same goofy grin on his face. Chaud s
"Hey, idiot, wake up."
"Mrrggghhh..."
"Oh come on, I know it's the weekend, just get up won't you?"
I sat up slowly, rubbing my eyes. "Why...what? Dave come on, it's so early..."
"It's raining outside. I know you love rain, come on!"
I blinked a few times. "Alright, alright. Fine. Now go away, I'm gonna get dressed."
"....So I ca--"
"NO, Dave, you can't stay for that. Go away."
Dave chuckled and left the room, making sure to close the door behind him. I stood up after a few more minutes of staring into space. I glanced out the window, watching as the beautiful drops of water fell from the blue-gray sky. He was right, I really do love

He flopped back on the bed, closing his eyes. The fan had made him dizzy. He stared up. He'd never felt so... real, I guess was the word. Stripped of his heavy armor, he lay next to his NetOp, Baryl. It was strange, feeling so comfortable. Not just because of the lack of armor... though that WAS nice. But things between him and his NetOp were always more... business like. No... don't go. Don't leave me alone...
I know you aren't real, but it feels like you're leaving...
You're all I have, so stay, stay with me!
I don't care if I control my thoughts...
I don't care if that's the only place that I love you
The only place I CAN love you...
No... you all make fun of me
Save for one, just one. They understand.
But the rest tell me that fantasy can't make me happy...
This person isn't really here... I can't count on them...
Stop... Stop!! I don't want to hear it anymore!
Don't laugh! Stop laughing!
Don't call me crazy... don't call me sad...
I already know that I am those things, I need no reminder.

You're sitting next to me
Watching me count
Counting the days until we're together...
I reach for my tools
For the work I must do
Every single day
No matter the danger
I pick them, my prizes
From the ground where the seeds first lay
My work and love paid off
With nature's gift to us
My animals graze as I pet them

Each one trusts in me,
And I, in them

And the mountain ranges,
The freezing passages,
And the mysterious mazes
They have surprises at every turn
